Anderson Ramos

Anderson Ramos completed his PhD in Immunology from the University of Sao Paulo in 2014 on the Immunomodulation of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis by the extract of the salivary glands of Aedes aegypti. He went on to do a Post doc in the Karolinksa Institutet on the Mechanism of insulin secretion in beta cells. He is currently a research fellow in the Nordlund lab at Karolinksa Institutet and working on using CETSA to study drug engagement and the different aspects of virus infection.

Reto Rufener

Reto Rufener received his PhD in Molecular Life Sciences in 2020 from the University of Bern in Switzerland. Before he joined the CETSA group in Stockholm, he was a scientist in the field of molecular parasitology. Within the scope of his previous work, he investigated the mode of action of various drugs and was developing new chemotherapeutic treatment options against infectious diseases targeting the energy metabolism. In his current project, he employs CETSA to describe the mechanism of action of new anti-cancer drugs within the cellular context. Moreover, he is developing a particular drug screening assay based on the findings of previous CETSA studies.

Jiawen Lyu

Jiawen Lyu is a postdoctoral fellow in the CETSA team. Her previous works focused on the proteomic method development for studying ligand-protein interactome by mass spectrometry. Since 2021, she joined CESTA team in Karolinska Institute to study the cellular mechanism in cancer process and chemical therapy.

Tamoghna Mandal

Tamoghna Mandal concluded his PhD research in 2019 from Ulm University, Germany. It was devolping and validating leukemic mouse models, transcriptomic plasticity and novel drug targeting sytems. He has been working with different aspects of Cancer Stem Cell biology since 2009. Presently perfoming Postdoc studies on immune checkpoint interactors using CETSA at Karolinska Institute.

Smaranda BacanuSmaranda is a PhD student in the lab. She did her Masters in Neuroscience from Stockholm University 2015, Neurochemistry with molecular neurobiology.

Mindaugas Raitelaitis

Mindaugas Raitelaitis is a PhD student in the lab. He is working on studying platinum compounds, their mechanisms of action and mechanism of resistance as chemotherapeutics.

Mohd Younis Bhat

Mohd Younis Bhat, completed his PhD in cancer biology from the Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore, India in 2021. He employed cutting-edge next-generation sequencing (NGS) and mass spectrometry platforms to study various cancer types such as oral squamous cell carcinoma and gastric adenocarcinoma. He is currently working with Dr. Pär Nordlund at Karolinska Institute, Sweden as a postdoc employing Cellular Thermal Shift Assay (CETSA) method to demonstrate ligand-protein interactions and cancer drug-target engagements in intact living cells.
